History: Gretchen Frank, better known as the Scarlet Sorceress, is an alternate universe incarnation of Wanda Maximoff (the Scarlet Witch). In her reality, Gretchen was kidnapped from Serbia and brought to Wundagore Mountain. The reason for her kidnapping is still unknown and Gretchen still doesn't know who her real parents are. For years, she believed that she was the child of Romany couple, Django and Marya Frank.
As an adolescent, Gretchen discovered that she had unusual superhuman abilities. When Django began to steal food to feed his starving family, enraged villagers attacked the Romani camp. Gretchen escaped from the camp. The circumstances of her separation from her family was so traumatic that not until well into adulthood could she remember anything but the barest details of her childhood. For the next few years, Gretchen wandered central Europe, living off the land.
However, when she became an adult, she decided to use her powers for good and decided to call herself "the Scarlet Sorceress". She was eventually transported into this reality and found out that she had a counterpart: a young woman named Wanda Maximoff. When she met Wanda, she was surprised at how different she was, yet could tell somehow that this angered, troubled girl was something that she could have possibly been.
Equipment: N/A
Powers:
Chaos Magic Reality Warping - Gretchen's main power is the superhuman ability to manipulate and warp reality at will, by manipulating Chaos Magic granted to her by experimentations and further amplified by the demon Chthon (imprisoned within Wundagore Mountain) when she was born.
Hex Bolts - Initially, Gretchen had the ability to manipulate probability via her "hexes" (often manifesting physically as "hex spheres" or "hex bolts") which manipulated energy fields and matter to varying degrees. These hexes were initially short range, and are limited to her line of sight. Casting a hex would initially require a gesture and concentration on her part, though the gestures are largely a focus for the concentration. Early in her career, her hexes were unconscious, and would be automatically triggered whenever she made a particular gesture, regardless of her intent. These hexes would only manifest as "bad luck", triggering negative effects. She later gained enough control over her powers that they only work when she wants them to, and they are not limited to negative effects. Gretchen can use her hexes to cause a wide variety of phenomena such as spontaneous combustion or melting, rapid or spontaneous decay/break/heal/fix, molecular destabilization, energy control/transference/disruption/amplification/transmutation as well as inertia redirection/amplification/disruption/transference, lit flammable objects, contained and removed air from a particular volume, canceling other's powers and abilities, stopped the momentum of projectiles, block/unlock/closed/opened doors, object and technological devices, exploded objects, created force fields, deflected normal and magical attacks, negated or distorted physical laws and manipulate physical forces, altered/affect/control matter, molecular composition and physical state and form of physical objects, and caused various forms of energy to spontaneously appear or disappear- to list only a few feats.
Teleportation - Gretchen has shown the ability to teleport herself and others over long distances. She can also travel to and open portal or gates for different purposes. The full extent to this ability is unknown.
Telekinesis - Gretchen has the ability to manipulate, propel and levitate things using her mind as well as fly or hover. She can also manipulate matter on a molecular scale, as shown when she pulled all oxygen atoms out of a volume of air to out out fire. The full extent to this ability is unknown.
Psychic Defense - Even when her witchcraft skills first emerged, she was shown to be able to dodge mental probes.
Skill: Gretchen is an expert combatant, tactician, martial artist and she also has an expert knowledge of sorcery.
Trivia (Optional):
-When she discovered her powers, Gretchen accidentally burned her hair, which left her with the red streak of hair in the center.
Sample of how you'll play this character:
The Scarlet Sorceress walked around the street. She was on her way to the Xavier Mansion and she was thinking about Wanda Maximoff.
"I wonder... if I help this girl... would that mean that I am helping myself in a way?" thought Gretchen.
She then stroked her chin in contemplation. Suddenly, some thugs came in and surrounded her.
"I don't think you would want to do that, dearies." said Gretchen.
The thugs prepared to jump her, but Gretchen teleports herself away and the thugs just land on each other.
"Criminals sure are stupid in this reality." said Gretchen.
