IRON LANTERN
HAL
History: Harold Stark is a millionaire and the founder of Stark Aircraft. He was working on a stationary flight simulator when the device suddenly took off with him in it. Stark discovered that the flight simulator was being drawn to a crashed alien spacecraft, and the flight simulator crashed yards away from it. Stark was badly injured by shards of metal stuck in his chest. Curious to the end, Stark made his way to the alien spacecraft, where he came upon the dying alien Rhomann Sur.
The alien died before he could speak with Hal, and Hal realized he was dying as well. With his last efforts, Stark designed a suit of armor out of the alien technology, powered by a battery he found in the wreckage, one which reminded him of a lantern.
The suit of armor not only allowed him to survive, but gave him incredible powers, allowing him to create any object he pleased out of a green energy, due to the battery he used being powered by Oa the Living Planet. He battled and defeated the aliens that had shot down Rhomann Sur's spacecraft. Stark, under the name of the Iron Lantern, became a superhero, fighting against numerous enemies.
However, Stark Aircraft was recently attacked by saboteurs using some of Hal's own creations and some of the workers had been killed. Although the Iron Lantern managed to defeat the saboteurs, Hal has started becoming reclusive and doing everything himself. It would seem as if he doesn't trust anyone, but deep down, it's because he doesn't want any more of the people he cares about hurt by his own inventions.
The pressure has gotten to be so much that he has started having nightmares about fellow employees being killed by car bombs intended for him, and he has also started thinking about selling the company, stop being a superhero and let the next car bomb kill him or disconnect his own mechanical heart and die a slow, painful and lonely death.
Equipment: Iron Lantern wears armor that can generate a variety of effects, such as Energy Construct Creation (he can create constructs of green "solid energy", often of tremendous size and/or complexity), Energy Projection and Flight.
Powers: All of Stark's powers come from his armor.
Skill: Apart from the powers granted to him by his suit, Stark is an inventive genius, constantly creating new technology and looking for ways to improve it. He is well-respected in the business world, able to command people's attentions when he speaks on economic matters. He is known for the loyalty he has for those who work for him, as well as impeccable business ethics.
Trivia (Optional):
-He considers Super-Soldier to be the closest thing he has had to family, since his parents (both test pilots) were killed during a test flight when he was a young boy.
Sample of how you'll play this character:
"No... NOOOO!!!!" yelled Harold Stark as he started tossing chunks of armor around. "The whole sabotage was my fault... those jets, weapons and gear were my designs... and they killed innocent people."
Stark just kept tossing armor chunks and other things around until he sat down in a corner.
"I... I killed some of my own employees..." said Stark. "I... I can't believe it..."
He then saw something lying on the floor. It was a picture of him as a young boy with his parents. He then hugs the picture and starts tearing up.
"Mom... Dad... I'm sorry... I wanted to use my creations to help others... but now, they're being used to destroy lives... people with promising futures, families waiting for them... I'm responsible for all that. Forgive me..." said Stark.
Pepper Ferris was outside, she had heard everything. She wanted to help, but she knew that he wouldn't want her to be involved so she goes to call someone who would really understand him.
"Hello, is this the Globe? Could I speak with Clark Kent, please?" asked Pepper.
