MARIA
CAPTAIN SPIDER
History: Maria Morrell is the future daughter of Carl Morrell and SHIELD Agent Margaret "Peggy" Carter.
In the very near future, Carl had been possessed by the symbiote Massacre, and after that ordeal, his romantic relationship with Kat Farrell deteriorated. They decided to break up but they still remained close friends. However, thanks to Peggy helping him in defeating the symbiote and all what they had gone through before that, Carl and Peggy's emotions to each other became stronger until Carl finally proposed to Peggy, giving her the engagement ring that he was originally going to give Judy Tyler back when he lived in his reality.
Peggy gave birth to a daughter, which they named Maria. Maria inherited the Super Soldier abilities of her mother and the spider powers, intellect and somewhat shy nature of her father. However, when Maria became a young adult, Carl noticed that time had been changed. Carl started being erased from existence due to the fact that Firebug had used Rama-Tut's time-travelling devices and killed Carl in one final confrontation after Maria was born. As Carl was getting weaker, Peggy came to a decision: she would send her daughter to the time when Carl and Peggy first met and she would join STRIKE, in order to prevent her father's murder if it ever happened.
Carl objected to the decision at first, but Peggy manages to convince Carl to let her go. Now, Maria goes to search for her parents in order to aid them in their battle.
Equipment: Carl's Web-Shooters, Carl's Handgun, Peggy's Shield, Peggy's Colt Python Handgun, Peggy's Beretta Pistol, Laser-Powered Machine Gun
Powers:
Spider Physiology - Maria possesses the proportionate powers of a spider, inherited from her father Carl. It grants her superhuman strength, speed, toughened flesh, and numerous arachnid-like abilities. That mutation granted her an "enhanced chromosome pattern".
Wall-Crawling - Maria also inherits her father's ability to mentally control the flux of inter-atomic attraction (electrostatic force) between molecular boundary layers. This overcomes the outer electron shell's normal behavior of mutual repulsion with other outer electron shells and permits the tremendous potential for electron attraction to prevail. The mentally controlled sub-atomic particle responsible for this has yet to be identified. This ability to affect the attraction between surfaces is so far limited to Maria's body (especially concentrated in her hands and feet) and another object, with an upper limit of several tons per finger.
Superhuman Strength - Maria possesses superhuman strength enabling her to press lift many tons. Maria's physical strength is sufficient enough to enable her to lift and throw objects as heavy as a big rig semi truck with ease. She must also pull her punches and kicks unless fighting someone of similar or greater physical durability. Otherwise, her blows would prove fatal to a normal human being. She has demonstrated that she is strong enough to knock out people with normal durability with as little as a tap to the head.
Superhuman Speed - Maria is capable of running and moving at speeds that are far beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete. Maria has shown to be fast enough to catch up to an accelerating car while on foot, but prefers to travel by webs. Maria moves faster than the eye can follow, she has even moved so fast she appears as a blur.
Superhuman Stamina - Maria's advanced musculature produces less fatigue toxins during physical activity than an ordinary human. This allows her to exert himself physically for much longer periods of time before fatigue begins to impair her. At his peak, Maria can physically exert herself at her peak capacity for several hours before the build up of fatigue toxins in her blood begins to impair her.
Regenerative Healing Factor - Maria has a low-level rapid healing factor. While not on Wolverine's level, it is sufficiently powerful enough to recover from severe injuries from broken bones and large amounts of tissue damage in a matter of hours.
Contaminant Immunity - Due to the Super-Soldier formula that is in her blood, Maria has a higher tolerance for drugs and diseases than normal humans, and she can recover from the effects of larger doses rapidly.
Superhuman Equilibrium - Maria possesses the ability to achieve a state of perfect equilibrium in any position imaginable. She seems able to adjust her position by instinct, which enables her to balance herself on virtually any object, no matter how small or narrow.
Superhuman Reflexes - Maria's reflexes are similarly enhanced and are currently about forty times greater than those of an ordinary human. In combination with her spider-sense, the speed of her reflexes allows her to dodge almost any attack, or even gunfire, given sufficient distance. Maria has even been shown in some cases, to be able to dodge gunfire using just her reflexes without her Spider-Sense.
Spider-Sense - Maria possesses an extrasensory "danger" or "spider" sense which warns her of potential immediate danger by the manifestation of a tingling sensation in the back of her skull, and links with her superhuman kinesthetics, enabling her to evade most any injuries, unless she cognitively overrides his automatic reflexes.
Skill: Indomitable Will, Genius-Level Intellect, Expert Inventor/Engineer, Science Major, Skilled Photographer, Master Acrobat, Master Hand-to-Hand Combatant, Street Smarts, Martial Arts, Marksmanship, Multilingual, Strategy, Spy, Thief, Code Breaker, Master Shield Fighter, Actress, Disguise
Trivia (Optional):
-Just like her father, Maria tries to hide her insecurities with wisecracks and jokes.
-Another trait she inherited from her father is trying not to rely on the superhero costume and instead, do things herself.
-She's a bit socially awkward due to her shyness.
-The Patriot is her hero. If she looks at a picture of him, she'll practically swoon. She also tends to react like a fangirl towards Philip Marlowe since he does remind her of the Patriot for some odd reason.
-This is her jam!!!
Sample of how you'll play this character:
Maria was merrily skipping around the street like a young teenage girl without a care in the world, singing to herself.
"Do it light, takin' me through the night. Shadow dancing, baby you do it right!!! Oh-oh." sang Maria. "Give me more, drag me across the floor. Shadow dancing, all this and nothing more."
Suddenly, a fight ensued near her.
"Do it-- FUCK!!!" yelled Maria as she evaded two people fighting.
One of the people was her father. She saw that the fight was getting out of hand and took her handgun and fired at the thug hitting Carl. The thug instantly dies and Carl looks at Maria.
"P-Peggy?" said Carl.
"Who, me?" said Maria, before noticing that she needed to pretend she was her own mother. "Why... yes, Peggy Carter, Agent of SHIELD at your service."
"Why are you acting... somewhat... off?" said Carl, noticing that "Peggy's" behavior was much more youthful than it was most of the time.
"Well... sometimes the climate can get to you, darling." said Maria somewhat awkwardly due to having to impersonate her mother. She was normally pretty awkward, but now, she felt even more awkward.
"Darling? You've never called me that before... you have called me 'dear', but you call everyone that, so..." said Carl.
"Well, force of habit, I guess." said Maria. "Look, I need to go... I've got some paperwork to attend to, see you soon... handsome."
Maria winked seductively at Carl and blew him a kiss as she walked off.
"H... handsome? The fuck?" said Carl as he blushed. He was confused. Peggy Carter, one of SHIELD's top agents, called a nobody like him 'handsome' and 'darling'? Why did he get this awkward feeling that if he told Peggy about this, he would get in a heap of trouble and receive a slap in the face as the grand prize for being the idiot of the week?
